Happy Blogoversary to me! I am late to my own party. (Pssst. There’s a giveaway too!)

So, apparently, it is 347 days to my blogoversary, which means my last one was like, two weeks ago? I have been blogging here for a year. Seems hard to believe, doesn’t it. For those of you who have stuck it out with me since then all I can say to you is a very, very emphatic thank you! Did you tell your friends.

How many people subscribe via Google Reader?

I recently learned that Google Reader’s service will be going away effective 1 July 2013. I am curious as to how many of my readers use that service and what many of you will be converting to. I have the subscribe by email option available on my blog, but for many, that can be daunting if you follow a lot of blogs. What other feed readers are out there? Quick Plug for Black, White and Read Tours

Alright folks. Black, White and Read Tours currently has 14 hosts signed up. So, here is what the powers that be here has decided.

We are going to put all host registrations into the Random.org hat once we hit at least 20 registered hosts in the next week or so. Once we break the 20 host mark, after 7 days or so from the day the 20th host registers, I will give away one ebook from Barnes and Noble of the winner’s choosing, up to 5 dollars. Discussion Time: Review Policies and How We Handle Author Requests

I have gotten a lot of unsolicited requests lately. Somehow, I think it is time to revamp my review policy and I decided to get the input of others in the process.

There is not a lot I will not read. For instance, I do not read erotica. I will not read books where rape, incest, violence toward a child is the main focus. That is pretty much it in terms of what I won’t read. My interests are broad, so an occasional nonfiction is fine as long as it can hold my interest.  Read more... A Brief Note of Apology

I wanted to sit down and very quickly write a brief note of apology to both my readers and those who have requested reviews. I allowed life to get in my way this summer, and I have now worked out a slightly better method for tracking review requests and blog tours, physically writing down what I am supposed to post when, et cetera, as this seems to work better for my addled brain.  Read more... A Brand New Leaf to Add to the Ever-Growing Tree of Me!

Decided that all of my book reviews and such should have their own home, so I decided to give them one.  So, I decided to start this page, Just Another Rabid Reader, since Rabid Reader was taken!  I will have the review of the first book read since coming up with this idea shortly.  I started it last night, and could not tear away from it and finished it just a little while ago.  If there are any books ya’ll would like me to look at, recommend, review, et cetera, please do not hesitate to ask.  Until then, happy reading.  Read more...
